Austin’s newest flex league

The Tennis League Network leads a collection of city based websites where we connect players on the tennis courts.

Here are some of the metropolises in our program:
Austin Tennis, Dallas Tennis, Manhattan Tennis

Our playoffs Run after every season. Here is the playoff description:

How do the Playoffs Run?
We use the playoff system to determine who is the overall winner of the season. Its a single elimination tournament where we will eventually have one champion.

Tourney are Skill Level Based
Tourney are skill level based; in most cases we only Play 1 division for each skill level. So the qualifying players from the section will be placed in one tournament bracket. But, in some cases we have multiple divisions of the same level.

Seedings & Brackets
We present all the qualifiers on the Division report pages. League Rule #10 is used to determine the seedings:
Rule #10) Playoff Positioning
Regular season ties are broken by this order:
1) Overall Record, based on matches over .500. 6-1 is 5 tennis matches over, 8-2 is 6 matches over and would be better.
2) In league Head-to-Head record for players tied after #1
3) We promote players playing matches, so 6-1 would be better than 5-0.
4) Percentage of games won

Anywhere from 2 to 50 players can qualify for the tournament. The brackets will be created based upon the # of players.

Scheduling & Deadlines
The scheduling of the matches follows the same format as the league as we really want the participants to agree on a mutual time and location to play. We do have a rule where the higher seed does have choice of home court. Also the higher seed has choice of serve or side to start the match.

Prize Pool & National Tournament
Once a winner has been crowned we use the league prize kitty to reward the participants of the playoffs. The prize pool is based upon the total number of participants in the division of the tournament.

* They will also be seeded according to Rule #10 indifferent of which level the wins came from.
