Internet Gambling Keeps Gaming Lovers in Their Houses

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Many modern gambling buffs will likely have heard of the slogan “offshore sports betting” recently, but a few may not be completely positive what that means. An offshore gaming internet site basically functions exterior to the sphere of any particular country or alternatively it can also mean a live gaming internet site that always has their host servers within the boundaries of a nation in which internet gambling is not at this time illegitimate. To summarize therefore, it’s a betting facility doing business extraneous to the national territory of the participant. On-line sports gambling websites are governed by means of 3 administrations. These are named OSGA (the Offshore Gaming Association), the IGC (Interactive Gaming Council) and finally the Fidelity Trust Gaming Association (the FTGA).

The Offshore Gaming Association are a self-governing “watch-dog” federation which currently keeps tabs on the offshore sports gaming trade, they want to supply betters the ability to swiftly find reliable businesses to play gambling games on, without stress. The agency tries to look after client’s rights, not to mention they don’t levy any association expenses.

The Offshore Gaming Association are an expert and equitable third party agency that expresses objective opinions, indicated by customer feedback, nonpartisan study, conversations, inside prompts also dispenses inside communication.

The Interactive Gaming Council are a non-profit-making administration. The agency was designed to allow a forum for interested parties to talk through problems and also to progress mutual concerns in the global web-based gambling industry, to ensure honorable and dutiful business codes and routines that enhance consumer certainty in interactive gaming products and utilities, and also to help as the gambling industry’s inclusive strategy advocate and the IGC also provides an info center.

The Interactive Gaming Council has built a reputation for safety, integrity and in addition solidity due to its elevated moral code, and also its appeal for moral concerns. The IGC governs overseas sports betting via utilising a special 10-step code of conduct and in addition bills sports gambling business concerns license fees for featuring their logo. Disgruntled gamers may, if they need to, recount their disputes to the Interactive Gaming Council.

The FTGA has been formed in order to set a standard which will upgrade the criteria of internet based sports betting trading operations. The Interactive Gaming Council believe that by conducting business with businesses of good standing, they are able to cultivate an alliance of the most sportsmanlike and most proficient offshore gaming companies world-wide.

So, there are governing bodies which exist to control the procedures exercised by on-line sports betting and which should help to assuage most if not all of the uneasiness felt by cynics. On-line sports betting sites are now consistently safe, now that private data are not necessary and also the remuneration and the odds are as balanced and honest as in an orthodox Vegas-type bet. They get rid of traveling time, but keep of a gambling casino, only nowadays you can game in your own home.

How to Find and Hire a Great Freelance Writer / Copywriter

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Seek and Ye Shall Find?
Sometimes finding a good writer can be harder than finding a soul mate because writing and copywriting are subjective arts and if you are not a writer, you can not see the difference between a good writer and an excellent writer. If you are looking for a writer on the Web by searching on terms such as writer and copywriter, there are few things you should look for once you find a writer’s website:

Excited, Delighted or Uninvited?
Excellent writing entertains and excites, quickly and concisely. When you read the writer’s website you should be drawn in. Does she ask the reader questions? Does he understand what you want? Does she seem friendly? Does he have relevant experience? Does she list what kinds of services she offers?

Location, Location, Location
Often businesses hiring a writer want to look for someone nearby so they search, writer, Los Angeles if they live in Los Angeles, if the writers don’t show an address or location where they work, you’ll never find then. You’ll be able to get a general idea of where the writer is by either the contact page or by references to work completed.

A Bad Writer Ain’t Hard to Find
If you notice grammar and spelling mistakes you are probably on the wrong page. Also if the style and design of a writer’s website looks bad, even if their writing looks good, you should be wary. Good writing is neat and pleasant looking.

Ample Parking and Samples
Excellent writing on the Web, gives the reader plenty of potential to stop, park, click and look for a while. If the writer doesn’t link to more writing and industry resources, she/he is less professional than the ones who do know that linking is best form of networking around. You ought to find several kinds of writing samples. If you don’t find the kind of samples you like, e-mail or call the writer and ask for exactly what you want.

RSVP

Response is also important to you and the writer. Although a few second e-mail response-time is possible, a day or overnight return time is reasonable. If you want a faster response, be sure to tell the writer that you are in hurry and on a deadline. When writers don’t respond in a timely manner, they miss out on your work.

Check References
Once you locate the name of the writer, do not hesitate searching for other references of the writer on the Web. Type the name in a search engine with an appropriate word such as writer. For example, when I searched my name Lynn Walford with the word writer, a photo of me standing next my former editor Michael Goldstein at a Justice Magazine party appeared. I never saw the photo until I searched my own name! Of course writers and authors names should also appear on magazine articles and bylines in other media. I also found myself in an article on naming books by Robin Quinn at the PMA website. While you’re at you might as well go Google yourself, to check your own references. :)

Titular Savvy or Tense—What’s in a Name?
Look at the title of the writer’s website. Is it catchy? Memorable? Does it Make Sense? Of course when someone is born Anna Matto Poeeah, (pronounced just like onomatopoeia, the poetic word for when something also sounds like its name such as whispering or clang) you can’t hold it against her. However, when writers don’t take the time to name their websites appropriately they can’t write a title for you.

The Price is Write

Some writers charge by the hour, by the piece or by the word. Whomever you choose, she/he should be able to give an estimate on how much your project will cost. Vagueness usually means no experience.

Rewrite Right?
Most excellent writers and copywriters will give a free rewrite if you don’t like what they do. Always ask if they will rewrite it for you if you don’t like it.

Test, Quiz
If you are planning a major project such as a white paper, which can be expensive, look for a writer in advance and ask him/her to write a small project for you first, then you can see if you can work with him/her and also test knowledge.

Well, Well, Well.

Writing well is a precise art with a sense of urgency and a taste of the divine. You should be able to tell good writing when you find it. It comes to life, sings and shines. When you read something like ” Avoid cliches like the plague,” found on 26 Golden Rules for Writing Well you are definitely in the wrong place.

Article Marketing: Top 10 Reasons Why Articles Get Rejected

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Each week I receive dozens of article submissions to my websites from aspiring authors, website owners, and entrepreneurs embarking on a new article marketing campaign. Most of the time, I can only use a small fraction of the content I receive because people writing articles make one of the crucial article marketing mistakes listed below.

KEY POINT: When you submit articles to a newsletter/ezine publisher or a website owner as part of your article marketing campaign, you have to remember that they aren’t going to publish YOUR article for THEIR customers and visitors unless it is high quality content that gives something of value.

If you’re writing articles like crazy as part of your article marketing, but getting very few of them actually published, then you might want to re-evaluate your approach. Are you making one of these crucial article marketing mistakes?

1. Poor Subject Matter:

If you’re going to bother writing articles, write about something that people are interested in reading about. In other words, address a problem and provide a solution within your content. This is your best bet when in comes to article marketing. Content pieces that approach an old problem in a new way or with a new twist work well too — you don’t have to necessarily discover a whole new problem that no one else has ever though of before (If you discover a whole new problem and have the solution you better be thinking of product creation not just an article marketing!).

2. Write With Personality:

No one likes to read text books. Put a little of your own personality into your article marketing and make your content engaging and entertaining as well as informative. If you have a sense of humor, use it.

3. Write For Your Audience:

Don’t distribute content about the value of protein in the American diet to a Russian Political website or the publisher of a podiatry newsletter… They don’t care.

4. Write A Decent Sized Article:

Most publishers would rather an article be a little bit too long than very short. Four hundred word articles just don’t have enough meat in them. Don’t ramble when you’re writing articles, but you’ve got to provide some details if you want to be published.

5. Break Up Your Article:
When writing articles, don’t use three long paragraphs. Break it up into smaller paragraphs with a few single lines, bullets, etc. to make it easier and more enjoyable to read. Again — no one likes to read text books.

6. Spell Check And Grammar:

If you’re writing articles as part of a serious article marketing campaign, then you’ve got to spell check. No one will publish your content if it’s full of spelling and grammar errors.

7. Don’t Write A Sales Letter:
No one will publish an article that reads like a sales letter… period. Article marketing isn’t about selling, it’s about pre-selling.

8. Forget About Affiliate Links:

Use your head… why would anyone use your content article if it’s full of your own affiliate links? Ever hear of the “Golden Rule?” It applies to article marketing too. Would you publish another writer’s article if it were full of his affiliate links? I doubt it.

9. Create A Reasonable Resource Box:

A resource box should tell me who you are, what you do, and how I can get in touch with you. It’s not unlimited advertising space for you to describe every website you run and each product you sell. Article marketing is about providing content, not advertising. That “Golden Rule” thing applies to resource boxes too.

10. Only Write About What You Know:

Even if you’re writing articles based on opinion, get your facts straight. Don’t write content filled with advice that you have no business giving… it will hurt your article marketing campaign.

If you take nothing else away from this discussion, remember that a good article writing campaign always answers “What’s in it for me?”

When you’re writing articles to send to newsletter and website publishers, you have to answer that question on two fronts…

What’s in it for the publisher? Why should they show your content to their customers and visitors? Does it give something of value?

– AND –

What’s in it for the people who will ultimately be reading your article when it’s published?

After all, the idea behind article marketing is to provide some worthy content that compels readers to visit your site, subscribe to your newsletter, or buy your product.

Article marketing can be extremely lucrative… but you’ve got to do it right.

The Euro Millions Lottery and Something You Might Not Know. How it Works, Who it Applies to and How You May Encounter that Tremendous European Lotto

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

The Euro Millions lottery was in the beginning launched by the national lotteries of France, the United Kingdom and Spain and was unveiled on Feb-04. The initial draw was on February 13th 2004 in Paris. The France, Spain and the UK were the only nations partaking in the beginning but lotteries from Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Republic of Ireland and Luxembourg likewise got engaged on October 2004.

The euro millions lotto or the Euro lotto, as it’s commonly better-known, gathers the lotto ticket revenues of the 9 partaking Euro countries delivering a giant Euro Millions “jackpot”. With the number of nations joining the EU on the increase, this will without a doubt lead to new countries participating in the Euro Millions lottery. An increase in the number of people partaking in the Euro millions lotto will lead to a continuing growth of the already immense European Lottery “jackpots”.

Q. How Would You Play The Euro Millions Lotto?

Each and every player must select 5 primary numbers from 1 to 50 plus 2 Lucky-star numbers from 1 to 9. During the lotto draw, 5 main plus two lucky star numbers are then chosen at random from two lotto draw machines containing numbered balls.

Euromillions Winnings

The probabilities of scooping the Euro Lotto “jackpot” is a distant one in 76 million but the likelihood of acquiring a cash prize is a fairly decent 1 : 24. When the “jackpot” is not won on a given week, it is carried forward to the next lottery draw which results in an ever increasing jack-pot prize. Recent regulations brought in on the 9/02/07 define the amount of successive rollovers to 11, with the jack-pot rolled out to smaller prize levels succeeding the eleventh draw when the prize is not collected.

The recent rules also initiated Euro Millions “Super Draw” which come about twice annually plus they offer jackpots in the region of 100 million pounds. The difference with “Super Draws” is that the jack-pot must be collected during the calendar week of the lottery draw; as a result, if there is no lotto ticket matching, all the drawn numbers then the top prize will then be distributed to the lottery ticket holder(s) in the succeeding winning prize level.

Writing A Novel–How True Does It Have to Be?

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Poor James Frey. His A Million Little Pieces will no longer be made into a movie (I wonder if he wll have to give the money back to producers), he was publicly discredited by Oprah (which should sell another million copies for him), and he’s put the whole publishing industry under a cloud. Questions about who knew what when will be circulating for months. It seems that no one associated with his book checked the facts. No one had discovered that he had originally tried to publish Pieces as a novel.

The question arises: When does factual inaccuracy become actual lying? As we all know, two people can witness the same event and come up with totally different accounts of what happened. Were this the case, Frey could be exonerated. But knowingly publishing fabrication under the guise of fact is a different matter entirely. Frey admitted to inventing the facts.

Now the question becomes, Do the Same Rules Apply to Fiction? Most readers do realize that since a novel, short story or play is a work of imagination, it doesn’t have to conform tightly to historical or even physical reality. No one could possibly know what Alexander the Great was thinking when he conquered the Persians, but no one disputes the fact that he fought and won against them. But what if the writer makes up a totally unfactual battle in a made-up country. Must she explain that this is just a fabrication, just as Bottom feels it is necessary to explain to the audience that what happens on stage isn’t real in Midsummer’s Night’s Dream? In a similar vein, should the reader necessarily discount everything else in the book as make-believe? Novels have given us priceless looks into the societies of their day. What should the reader believe, and what should she disbelieve?

A case in point is my novel, The Cellini Masterpiece. The country of Malta exists, but as far as I know, my hero Rick Olsen doesn’t. The capital of the country is Valletta, but you won’t find Black Dolphin shipping there. Furthermore, there are still remnants of noble families on the island, but there never was one called the Cornacchias. How much should be included in a disclaimer? Should there be one at all?

I hope I can claim plausibility for the events in the story, but I certainly don’t have to claim that they actually happened, or if they did, in the way I have told it. I have been called to task for a rather silly gaffe about where Queen’s University is located, and the error was corrected. Will it hurt that someone might actually believe it is in Toronto instead of Richmond? A great work of fiction must blend truth and fabrication seamlessly. I have been asked many times if the Cellini Masterpiece actually existed. The answer is no, but I’ve been flattered that they wondered if it did.

The fall-out from Frey likely will not end soon. It has become a much-needed forum for discussion of the nature of fiction and non-fiction. I expect it will add fuel to questions about the insularity of the publishing world. How long will the giants be putting out only those books that they feel has best-seller potential? Why is it that despite the difficulty a new writer has to face just to get a book read, there are more than 200,000 new books published every year? How many of the books that purport to be non-fiction actually are that?

In the words of a respected purveyor of factual knowledge, Good Night and Good Luck.

CIA, FBI, NSA Government Covert Surveillance and Conspiracy Theorist Novels

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Currently you can go onto the Internet and find conspiracy theorists everywhere, it is amazing indeed. You can find links to Alien Abductions and secret “Men in Black” websites, which explain how the human race is being controlled and you are next! You can find old “Cold War” embellishments of covert secret NSA projects and stories of NAZI spies who joined the CIA. If you search you will find secret groups like the Illuminati, Skull and Bones and high-levels of the Masonic Right. Now you must know that many people who run these websites have entirely too much time on their hands and some suffer from borderline Schizophrenia. Some even suffer from worse bizarre disorders of the mind. Yet some of what you read maybe real, it would be less than 5% as the Intelligence Community often says. Recently I met such a Conspiracy Theorist at a coffee shop and he just kept talking and talking. So, I thought it was an interesting idea for a Movie Script, here is what he told me;

“I am not a conspiracy theorist, although, I do believe that our CIA is working from outside the country in Canada and on Indian reservations now spying on Americans who maybe in cahoots with susceptibles or foreign nationals who may or may not be Al Queda. Some of these outside our nation working for the intelligent agencies might be attempting entrapment pretending to be bad guys calling a citizen they suspect is dirty, so that is an issue. Once the CIA contacts them from outside the country pretending to be Al Queda, well now they have a reason to use surveillance on a person and track them until they break some law.”

When hearing this, I thought to my self that his scenario was plausible indeed, but highly unlikely. Yet his conspiracy theorist mind had come up with what appears to be a great concept for a video game scenario for the new Xbox 360, as it could be made around a story and seem very reality based they way he had described this. Which is indeed an Orwellian type scenario and would fit well in not only a video game, but perhaps a movie script or Sci Fi novel too, you see? If you are designing video games, writing Sci Fi Novels or making movie scripts you should listen to at least some of these conspiracy theorists every once in a while, just don’t start believing them, you may catch what they have got? Think on this in 2006.
